‘Scarlet Stud’ – Male Gang-gang Cockatoo Fine Art Print
Some birds quietly blend into the background.
The male Gang-gang Cockatoo looked at that concept and said:
“Absolutely not.”
With his striking scarlet-red head, wonderfully scruffy crest and the sort of confidence usually reserved for vintage rockstars and blokes named Barry, ‘Scarlet Stud’ is here to make an entrance.
The Gang-gang Cockatoo is one of Australia’s most distinctive native birds — beloved for their quirky appearance, curious nature and delightfully windswept hairstyles. And while the females are all soft elegance, the boys arrive in full colour with a look that says, “Yes, I know this red suits me.”
Created using my signature mix of ink and watercolour, this artwork celebrates movement, personality and visual fun. Loose brushstrokes and expressive details bring this feathered character to life, capturing not just the beauty of the bird, but the wonderfully cheeky spirit that makes Australian wildlife so lovable.
Because in my world, birds aren’t just wildlife — they’re characters.
Whether displayed in a cosy home, bird-lover nook, Australiana-inspired space or gallery wall, ‘Scarlet Stud’ brings warmth, colour and a little bit of glorious feathered swagger to your walls.

What is a Giclée?
Giclée is a printing process using high-quality digital files, archival-grade pigments and acid free media resulting in a fade-free image which achieves a seemingly “dot-less” imaging technology (which varies from traditional fine art printing which typically relies on screen pattern dots to reproduce full-range colour halftones). The Giclée process enables reproduction on virtually the same media as the original artwork.
