Painting Carol the Australian Magpie was such a treat – I'm completely obsessed with magpies! We have a family of them that live in our area that visit us regularly. I loved getting lost in the feathers, using intricate ink patterns to bring all that texture life. Magpies are not only an iconic animal of Australia but also a part of its soundscape, waking to its stunning warbling everyday.
