My Brain Never Shuts Up. That's Why There's a Magpie Holding Your Keys.

New Release · Behind the Art

Introducing art for your walls that actually does something - meet the wildlife coat hooks.

Here's something you should know about me: my brain doesn't really have an off switch. I'll be mid-conversation, mid-dinner, mid-sleep - and suddenly some completely unhinged idea arrives like it has been waiting for the worst possible moment. Most of the time I scribble it down and it lives in a notebook forever. But sometimes? Sometimes the idea is too good to ignore.

This one started because I kept losing my keys. Again. Standing in my hallway for the fourth time that week, I thought - if only something would catch my eye. Something beautiful. Something that made me actually want to put things where they belong.

And then the spiral started. Wildlife coat hooks. Obviously. But with little metal feet as the hooks - actual bird feet, little claws jutting off the bottom of the wood, holding your stuff while looking completely magnificent about it. I mean... what would be cuter?

Art that earns its place on your wall by actually being useful.

They're made the same way as my coasters - my artwork printed onto beautiful wood, Australian made, with that same quality and warmth you can actually feel when you hold one. Then finished with little metal feet at the base that work as proper coat hooks. It's functional, it's tactile, it's a genuine piece of my art that lives in your home every single day.

Because here's the thing - I know not everyone can hang an original artwork or even a framed print. Maybe you're renting. Maybe every wall is spoken for. Maybe the budget just isn't there right now, and that is completely okay. But I've always wanted people to be able to live with a little piece of my wildlife world, not just look at it in a shop. These are my answer to that. Art with a job to do.

And what a crew I've put together for the first release. Four birds. Four completely distinct personalities. All judging your hallway habits in their own unique way:

 The Magpie

The Cockatoo

The Kookaburra

The Rainbow Lorikeet

Holding your keys with barely concealed judgement.

Knows exactly where you left them.

Has always known.

Loud, dramatic, completely unbothered.

Will hold your bag but expects to be complimented for it.

Delighted by everything, including your hat collection.

Greets you every morning like it's genuinely the best day.

Pure sunshine in bird form.

So impossibly bright and happy you'll smile at her every single time you walk past, without fail, forever.

I've already hung the magpie in my own hallway and I will tell you this: I have not lost my keys since. Coincidence? Absolutely not. She simply will not allow it.

She's definitely still judging me though.

Small batch, Australian made, built with the same obsessive attention to detail that means I'll redo something three times before I'm happy with it. Each one is a little piece of art that just happens to have a very practical job.

I genuinely cannot believe it took me this long to make these. My hallway has never looked better.

And honestly? I think the magpie might be one of my favourite things I've ever created.
